The Arroscia Valley<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

We make our wines in a small cellar in Ranzo<\/strong>, a little village in Western Liguria<\/strong>, with a resident population of just over 500, situated about twenty kilometres inland from the sea, near the first foothills of the Ligurian Alps.
The Arroscia Valley is our world, an ancient salt trail<\/strong> that climbs from the sea towards the mountains on the border.
The local farmers have always grown Pigato<\/strong> grapes.<\/p>

This a wild territory<\/strong>, made up of terraces planted with olive trees and vineyards, characterised by drystone walls between steeply climbing woods and tightly winding roads.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Few people know this, but Liguria is Italy\u2019s greenest region<\/span><\/strong>, with 73% of the land being covered by trees<\/strong><\/span>; the area inland is a completely different world from the coast which, unfortunately, is almost entirely paved with concrete. We have chosen to live and work in a challenging landscape but one that is rich in biodiversity<\/span><\/strong>, where wild animals (boars, roe deer, badgers, foxes, buzzards, wolves, etc…) massively outnumber the few people who live here.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

You can\u2019t see our vineyards from the road; they are hidden away among the woods, between tight bends and silent footpaths, in a landscape that you have to actively seek out.
The vineyards coexist alongside oak trees, olives and Mediterranean maquis.
Working in these hills demands dedication, constancy and respect.
But it is this very close bond with the land that gives our wines their character.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
